One of the tourism trends for 2009 that has been identified is Green Travel by a number of agencies and reports such as Tripadvisor and the Travel Advocate – Going Green.  Travellers want to do their part to protect and preserve the environment. They are looking at green businesses & destinations to visit.  A great resource to help your business go green has just been release by TIAC in partnership with Parks Canada and CTC – ” Green your Business – Toolkit for Tourism Operators. It is available free in pdf format (107 pages).   

Some excellent resources are available to assist your business understand and go green. They include – the International EcoTourism Society,  Geotourism Program by National Geographic , Sustainable Travel International, Ecotourism Australia, Green Globe New Zealand, Audubon Green Leaf Eco-Rating Program and Green Globe.
