NS Tourism Research Forum provides many highlights

The 3rd annual Nova Scotia Tourism Research Forum at the Museum of Industry in Stellarton on April 27th was a great success, attracting  the most delgates to date, 80 plus, with an excellent program. The research forum included sessons on 2008 Results, Competitive analysis, In Province travel by Nova Scotians, Best practices : Tracking On-line Marketing Programs, Understanding and Applying  the Explorer Quotient to enchance visitor experience, 2009 Outlook and the Workplan for 2009.   

The forum began with Joliene Stockley providing an excellent review of the 2008 NS Tourism year by comparing  results from the past ten years.  Interesting data for in province travel by Nova Scotians was released and presented by Karen McNutt.  The opening video – “The World We live in “,  of the 4th Online Revealed Canada Conference (Tourism Online Marketing) was shown to begin the session of  Tracking Online Marketing Programs followed with web analytics and social media. David MacDonald of Environics and Greg Danchuk, Parks Canada  provided an interesting session on the Explorer Quotient and how it can enchance the visitor experience. and the day ended with 2009 outlook with Lee Ann Crouse and the 2009 workplan by Stephen Coyle for the Research division of NS Tourism.
