The Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre in Australia has recently released two documents in 2008 to help the tourism industry understand  user generated content, social media, web 2.0, and tourism marketing.  They are  1) Consumer -Generated  Web- Based Tourism Marketing. and 2 )” Users are doing it for Themselves – how consumer generated content is changing the face of tourism marketing. ”  The second document is the results of the online survey from the Consumer-Generated Web-based Tourism Marketing study. 

Both can be downloaded free from the Sustainable Tourism Cooperative website free.  The Consumer-Generated Web-Based Tourism Marketing Document  by Carmen Cox, Stephen Burgess, Carmine Sellitto, Jeremy Buultjens is  59 pages long,  and 2.08 meg pdf format to download. Users are doing it for Themeselves is 24 pages long  and is 1.35 meg in pdf format to download. Both documents are well worth reading and downloading. They will help you understand user generated content -UGC,  and social media.
