TIAC releases its new report – Tourism & Travel Trends 2008

 TIAC, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada recently released its Tourism & Travel Trends 2008 publication which looks at the last ten years from 1998 – 2007 of the tourism industry and identifies trends in various sectors.  Some of these sectors include  Tourism Demand & Travel Deficit, Domestic Tourism, International Travel,  Government revenue, Number of Tourism Business,  Canadian Tourism Employment, Transportation – Auto, Rail, Marine and Air,  Accommodation Services, Food and Beverage Services, Recreation & Entertainment,  Heritage Instuitions,  and Travel Services. 

This document is available free by downloading  the publication from TIAC website . It is 56 pages long – 6.92 meg pdf document.  But it is worth as it provides 10 years of data…. Randy Williams, President and CEO of TIAC is hoping to update the document every year or two.  Tourism is a $70.6 billion dollar industry and is very important to our economy.
