A Couple of Chicks E-Marketing, Patricia Brusha and Alicia Whalen, visited Victoria County on April 4th to deliver “Growing Your Business with E-Marketing” workshop at the Gaelic College, St. Ann’s. This was the first workshop of the Nova Scotia Masterclass Series to be held on Cape Breton Island, hosted by the Victoria County Recreation & Tourism Department, TIANS and NS THRC. The workshop was filled within the first six days and 45 tourism operators reaped the benefits of having Patricia and Alicia here for one full day. Henrietta, their mascot was also in attendance providing lively discussion. Key words, search engine optimization, social communities, press releases and web analytics were some of the topics covered during this day long workshop.

The chicks are extremely knowledgeable, so we were lucky to have them here for this workshop. The power of keywords….who knew?! Of course, many of these e-marketing strategies will be enhanced by the availability of additional broadband in our rural communities – an initiative which is being pursued by municipalities and Regional Development Agencies across Nova Scotia.

I couldn’t agree more – the Coconut Cream Pie was amazing! The “Chicks” want to let you know how much we enjoyed our session in Cape Breton last week. You were a very engaging audience and both Patricia and I loved your enthusiasm – even when we got to the less entertaining subjects like Analytics and RSS!
Thanks again and we look forward to making our way East again soon!
